Portland's Best Chocolate and Coffee Walking Tour

Overview
Portland's chocolate scene is overwhelming; let us navigate you through its origins, passionate makers, and diversity with this walking tour that delves into what some call "decadence" but we call "delight."

And we couldn't cover chocolate without the roasted seed of our other favorite tropical berry: coffee! Portland is known as the heart of the craft coffee roasting world, with so many small roasters, coffee lovers that we are, we struggle to taste them all.

Our tour hits both the well-known highlights and some of the secrets of the chocolate scene, with a few surprises we don't want to give away.

The tour in total is about 2.0 miles (3.5km), mostly flat walking, with tastings of chocolate and coffee -- just the right amount so you'll have the opportunity to truly savor every sip and bite! We keep groups very small, so you'll have an intimate experience with your enthusiastic guides.

What To Expect
1
Azar Indulgences
We'll walk down through the funky Portland West End and stop at Azar Indulgences, where owner Christine Azar has designed her ideal combination of both handcrafted Belgian-style chocolates from her family's company in Lebanon. Azar's one-of-a-kind chocolates are made in a family tradition going back over a century; we'll taste a selection of our favorite of these chocolates (although to be honest it's so hard to pick!).
2
Portland Art Museum
In the Cultural District, we will walk by and describe the art museum and its role in the city’s embracing of craft as we head to one of our favorite coffee shops.
3
Portland
We will stop at a total of two coffee shops, depending on interest and the guide, which could include Behind the Museum Cafe and Less and More Coffee. Here we will get into how coffee is a part of Portland’s every day life and how deeply Portland’s coffee roasters have influenced the city and the world.
4
Pearl District
Our second chocolate shop is in the Pearl District in Portland. Hours and days vary so this will depend on the group, date and guide!

The guide was very knowledgeable. The spots where we had coffee and/or chocolate were top notch. I have some mobility problems, which she took into consideration, making this a fabulous afternoon all around!

What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Our guide, Nanci, was fantastic. Her knowledge of Portland is expansive and even though we've lived here for a number of years we learned lots of new fun facts. The chocolate/coffee shops were great. All of them were very welcoming. We highly recommend this tour.
