Whether you're traveling through Seattle, just moved here, or a local veteran, this 3-hour tour is for you. We moved to Seattle in July 2019 but wanted to take this tour to learn more about our new home. It was totally worth the wait, and we wish we had done it sooner.
Let me start by saying: a) I'm not a fan of tours, b) I'm not a fan of big established city-tours, and c) I'm concerned about price-point.
This tour was everything about tours that I love, and I'm super-glad that I did it.
It's hard to explain what makes this tour so-good in a way that distinguishes other posts that you've probably already read. But let me try anyway.
1. Tours are supposed to start on time and be effortless for pick-up and drop-off. THIS tour delivers. The host managed to find us in a crowded hotel lobby, managed to adjust to some last-minute changes due to last minute tickets, easily pivoted when a key destination was closed due to a special event, and still managed to kick things off on time and then drop everybody off at some preferred locations. Amazing!
2. This is a 3 hour tour. If you had a 3 hour tour with a tour guide who was lifeless or ill-prepared, the tour would be painful. Instead, we had DOUG. Having DOUG as a guide to Seattle is sort of like having Milton Hershey as a guide to a chocolate factory. We're so lucky that we hit the tour guide jackpot. Thanks DOUG!
3. The tour-schedule and the tour-bus vehicle are designed to maximize sight-seeing, Instagram moments, pauses for deep reflection, and everything in between. It felt like time was flying by. That's the difference between a lame or automated tour - and having the DOUGSTER.
4. Doug - again, the greatest living tour guide, made sure to include ALL of our diverse group. He asked the group questions, keep us thoroughly engaged, and made all passengers feel safe, secure, comfortable, informed, and happy.
5. I get it - it's hard to quantify the value of a tour unless you've done it. Consider me a tour skeptic, but I was sold - hook, line, and sinker - and for good reason.
Thanks team!
