Premier Whale Watch and Mendenhall Glacier Combo

Overview
Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

The bus drivers and the crew for whale watching were great. Captain Josh, Charlie, Myranda, and Maryna did a great job finding the whales, and explaining about their life cycle, habits, and behaviors. We saw a calf and her mother, along with a couple of other whales during the tour. The crew were funny, with high energy and genuinely excited to find and see whales too! The ship was comfortable with multiple places to view from. Mendenhall Glacier was nice to see, and there is a nice hike down to the waterfall. The only issue we had was the buses were supposed to arrive every 30 minutes and it was almost an hour for a bus to arrive. The only hitch in an otherwise great combo tour.

We saw at least 4 humpbacks on the watching portion of the tour which was fantastic with 3 different tail showings. The glacier portion of the tour was good but not as spectacular as the whale watching using Juneau Tours as our guides.

Rusty and Christi were great! Very informative, knew just where the whales and sea lions were located, gave us adequate time to observe and take pictures and videos.
