Premier Whale Watch and Mendenhall Glacier Combo

Overview
Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

We had a great trip on a beautiful warm day. We saw humpbacks, Dall's porpoises and many eagles. We learned a lot from the naturalist and the driver. They were great, the boat was comfortable and we had a good time. Much cheaper than the Princess tours offered.

The whale watching was fun and we saw numerous Humpbacks, Eagles, and Sea Lions. The tour guide was fun and knew her stuff. After the whale watching tour, we all went to the Mendenhall Glacier.....a majestic sight and a beautiful waterfall next to it. I would do this tour again. Entertaining, fun, and a learning experience.

Arrival timing and tardiness of a group of asian visitors cut badly into our available time to visit the Mendenhall glacier, but by rushing and speed walking I could get round the short photo-points walk, see the glacier and get back to the bus in time to make it to the whale-watching boat for that part of the excursion. The skipper (LAUREN) was extremely skillful and knowledgeable about the whales themselves and where they would be, and the on-bard naturalist (AARON) was equally helpful and informative. All in all we got pretty close to several whales and understood how they worked, why they were here now, their dive routines, their identification characteristics etc. This was a professionally executed tour in a boat purposefully built to offer plenty of clear viewing and photo-ops, and with rest-room facilities and a small galley offering hot chocolate, coffee and soft drinks - and plenty of smiles all round....
