Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

Tour time is a check-in time; departure is within 15 to 30 minutes.
The meeting place is under the cables in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
All ports or docks are within 10 minutes walking distances, except one - the A Dock - which provides a “Downtown” shuttle to the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
At time of booking, cruise ship passengers must provide the name of their ship
A moderate amount of walking is involved.
No food is allowed at the Mendenhall Glacier.
Tour operates in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately in layers and for the likely chance of rain. It is recommended that you wear warm layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and comfortable slip-proof shoes
Always check with us regarding the shuttle schedule if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours at the Glacier park

Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway

This is our meeting point. We chose it because it is easy to spot from everywhere. We meet under the cables of the aerial gondola.

Inside Passage

We will drive you via bus out to Auke Bay Harbor, where you board our custom whale watching boats

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

We drive you via bus to this beautiful park. Time spent here depends on the time of day you arrive. Refer to your tour guide for the most accurate information.

Excellent trip! The whale watching boat was excellent - huge windows and great outdoor space (thanks Cpt. Matt!) and Dana was an excellent tour guide. I liked the photography tips as I am not an expert and felt that I learned a lot. There is a short hike involved and as I have a cranky knee I was a little nervous but Dana did a wonderful job setting a pace that worked for everyone. She was also helpful in setting expectations for what physical exertion would be required during different parts of the hike. I've been on a lot of tours and this is definitely one of the best!

This was a great tour and must do in Juneau! We lucked out with a sunny day and got to see many whale tails and many whales were out. I wish we could have seen them closer, but the boats can't get that close there. Our crew of Ben, Noah and Russell were great! They were all very knowledgeable and funny! It was a good tour, but after the boat ride some people get on the bus to the Glacier and some do not. They don't check who gets on which bus after that, so you could probably go on either one whether you booked it or not.
