Overview
Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. You get 1.5 hours at the park, but don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

We booked this tour separately from our cruise. It wasn't difficult to find the operator and get on the bus. It was a bit confusing when we got to the dock as they weren't sure who was going on each boat but it was sorted quickly. Minutes later we were on the boat heading out to see whales. It didn't take long before we could see the whales. Unlike some of the photos, I think there was only one breaching (I didn't see it) and the rest were fin flips and water out of the spouts. Still amazing to see for someone who has never experienced it. Fun facts about whales were provided by the crew. After whale watching our driver drove us to the Glacier. It was explained to us that while we originally booked a tour that allowed for more time at the Glacier, this was no longer the case. Not the fault of the operator but due to so many people coming to view the Glacier. We had to really hoof it to see the Glacier and Nugget Falls. No time to go to the Observation building. We came close to seeing a bear but he didn't cooperate. The driver did make a small stop on the way back to the cruise dock to get picture of whale fountain in Overstreet Park. The driver was a bit of a character but interesting to listen to. Overall good experience.

Watching the pods bubble feed multiple times next to our boat. That was amazing! What an experience!

Dani. Addie and Jimmy were awesome. We saw many whales. Monica was very helpful in coordinating our trip to the Mendenhall Glacier. Would highly recommend this tour. We were able to spend more time at the Glacier.
