Overview

Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

Tour time is a check-in time; departure is within 15 to 30 minutes.
The meeting place is under the cables in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
All ports or docks are within 10 minutes walking distances, except one - the A Dock - which provides a “Downtown” shuttle to the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
At time of booking, cruise ship passengers must provide the name of their ship
A moderate amount of walking is involved.
No food is allowed at the Mendenhall Glacier.
Tour operates in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately in layers and for the likely chance of rain. It is recommended that you wear warm layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and comfortable slip-proof shoes
Always check with us regarding the shuttle schedule if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours at the Glacier park

Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway

This is our meeting point. We chose it because it is easy to spot from everywhere. We meet under the cables of the aerial gondola.

Inside Passage

We will drive you via bus out to Auke Bay Harbor, where you board our custom whale watching boats

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

We drive you via bus to this beautiful park. Time spent here depends on the time of day you arrive. Refer to your tour guide for the most accurate information.

We had a great experience with Captain Josh and naturalists Jayden and Jesse. They took the time to make sure we got the best views of the humpbacks. We got amazing photos! They provide a little snack on the 2+ hour whale watching boat ride and are happy to give more if you ask. We are headed now to the Mendenhall glacier.

My wife and I had a magnificent time on this tour. Especially the whale watch! Captain Dan did a great job topside in finding a group of 6 to 7 humpbacks whales and positioning the boat so the whales were coming towards us and providing magnificent photo opportunities. We made great use of the photo ops provided and will go home with wonderful photos of these magnificent creatures. On deck as guides were Jayden and Sam who were happy to provide us with information about the whales and answering numerous questions. If you do nothing else while in port in Juneau do this tour! Our crew was amazing. Captain dan got us very close to view the whales. Charlie was the most excited about her job of anyone I’ve ever met. She was knowledgeable and eager to share. She put the hydrophone in the water so we were able to hear the whales during the bubble net feeding experience. Very cool to see 8 whales feed at the same time. We skipped the glacier tour but the whale watching alone was worth the combo price.
