Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

Tour time is a check-in time; departure is within 15 to 30 minutes.
The meeting place is under the cables in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
All ports or docks are within 10 minutes walking distances, except one - the A Dock - which provides a “Downtown” shuttle to the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
At time of booking, cruise ship passengers must provide the name of their ship
A moderate amount of walking is involved.
No food is allowed at the Mendenhall Glacier.
Tour operates in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately in layers and for the likely chance of rain. It is recommended that you wear warm layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and comfortable slip-proof shoes
Always check with us regarding the shuttle schedule if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours at the Glacier park

Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway

This is our meeting point. We chose it because it is easy to spot from everywhere. We meet under the cables of the aerial gondola.

Inside Passage

We will drive you via bus out to Auke Bay Harbor, where you board our custom whale watching boats

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

We drive you via bus to this beautiful park. Time spent here depends on the time of day you arrive. Refer to your tour guide for the most accurate information.

Our cruise ship was 4 hours late and we were worried we'd miss our scheduled trip. We called from the ship and the company confirmed they had automatically rescheduled our trip, as they were aware of our late arrival. Unfortunately we didn't have time to go to the Glacier but we did see several whales, sea lions and bald eagles. The guides, Lena and Taylor were very informative.

This is the second time we’ve done this to work, but it was definitely the best. On the whale watching portion we saw at all, Orcas, Humpbacks, Sea Lioba, and Bald Eagles. The ship’s crew kept commenting how fortunate we were as it’s not always that prolific of a viewing opportunity. The visit to Mendenhall glacier, while beautiful, was definitely way too short. We had to rush out to the edge of the glacier if we wanted to see it, and the programs, video and other activities near the visitor center were way too crowded to try to get many of them in during the time allotted.

We had a great whale watching tour. We got up close and personal with Flame! Kris was an awesome naturalist and Captain Josh got us close to several Whales!
