Overview

Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

Tour time is a check-in time; departure is within 15 to 30 minutes.
The meeting place is under the cables in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
All ports or docks are within 10 minutes walking distances, except one - the A Dock - which provides a “Downtown” shuttle to the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
At time of booking, cruise ship passengers must provide the name of their ship
A moderate amount of walking is involved.
No food is allowed at the Mendenhall Glacier.
Tour operates in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately in layers and for the likely chance of rain. It is recommended that you wear warm layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and comfortable slip-proof shoes
Always check with us regarding the shuttle schedule if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours at the Glacier park

Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway

This is our meeting point. We chose it because it is easy to spot from everywhere. We meet under the cables of the aerial gondola.

Inside Passage

We will drive you via bus out to Auke Bay Harbor, where you board our custom whale watching boats

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

We drive you via bus to this beautiful park. Time spent here depends on the time of day you arrive. Refer to your tour guide for the most accurate information.

Had the absolutely the best time with Brendon, Russell and Jaden. All were funny and of course knowledgeable about whales. I don’t think I would have had a trip of a lifetime without Jaden’s whale dance as we were able to have the whales “dance” as a response! The whale flipped its tail right in front of the boat and then breeched right along the side. Like I said “danced”! I’m thinking no one will believe what we saw! Best crew ever! If you wya great time looking for whales, request this crew. You won’t be disappointed!

My family had an amazing time whale watching with Jaden, Brendon, and Russell. They are clearly passionate about their jobs and took us to the best spots to see whales breach, a very rare sight in these cold waters. We also saw porpoises and many eagles. Mendenhall glacier was also a nice stop. The hike out to the Nugget waterfall is well worth it. Our bus drivers Papa Bear and a Tlingit fellow (forget his name) were knowledgeable and funny. Would definitely book this tour again!

Had the most incredible time seeing many whales, orcas, and even jellyfish! Had the chance to see a couple of whales breaching up close! Jaden, Russell, and Brandon were the best crew we could’ve asked for! A must do tour for all!!
