Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

Tour time is a check-in time; departure is within 15 to 30 minutes.
The meeting place is under the cables in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
All ports or docks are within 10 minutes walking distances, except one - the A Dock - which provides a “Downtown” shuttle to the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
At time of booking, cruise ship passengers must provide the name of their ship
A moderate amount of walking is involved.
No food is allowed at the Mendenhall Glacier.
Tour operates in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately in layers and for the likely chance of rain. It is recommended that you wear warm layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and comfortable slip-proof shoes
Always check with us regarding the shuttle schedule if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours at the Glacier park

What To Expect

Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway

This is our meeting point. We chose it because it is easy to spot from everywhere. We meet under the cables of the aerial gondola.

Inside Passage

We will drive you via bus out to Auke Bay Harbor, where you board our custom whale watching boats

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

We drive you via bus to this beautiful park. Time spent here depends on the time of day you arrive. Refer to your tour guide for the most accurate information.

This was a fantastic trip which we booked through our cruise line Holland America. It was a very small group of about 10 people. Our captain Mac was brilliant and in contact with other ships to find the best sightings of whales etc. We were whisked north to view a pod of orca whales which were fabulous and then taken back to see some hump back whales. Mac and our guide Cayla were very knowledgeable about the species and able to give us the best time ever. A truly wonderful sight. We were then taken by a small coach to the glacier walking for a while through a magical glacial forest. Truly spectacular. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had a fantastic trip with captain Brenden seen 5 whales on what is patient's boat with a knowledgeable and friendly crew. There is plenty of space for everybody to see and you were given plenty time with each whale to watch its natural behaviour and take photos.

Had an amazing time with Captain Kara and Jayden! We managed to see at least 3 full grown whales along with a calf come right up to the boat. Journey was smooth and made all the more enjoyable by the perfect views and guides 👌🏻
