Overview

Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

Tour time is a check-in time; departure is within 15 to 30 minutes.
The meeting place is under the cables in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
All ports or docks are within 10 minutes walking distances, except one - the A Dock - which provides a “Downtown” shuttle to the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
At time of booking, cruise ship passengers must provide the name of their ship
A moderate amount of walking is involved.
No food is allowed at the Mendenhall Glacier.
Tour operates in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately in layers and for the likely chance of rain. It is recommended that you wear warm layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and comfortable slip-proof shoes
Always check with us regarding the shuttle schedule if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours at the Glacier park

Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway

This is our meeting point. We chose it because it is easy to spot from everywhere. We meet under the cables of the aerial gondola.

Inside Passage

We will drive you via bus out to Auke Bay Harbor, where you board our custom whale watching boats

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

We drive you via bus to this beautiful park. Time spent here depends on the time of day you arrive. Refer to your tour guide for the most accurate information.

This was incredibly amazing. Saw 4 hump backs tons of orcas, sea lions, and eagles. Truly amazing experience!!

Marina and her team were amazing. She was informative and thoroughly seemed to enjoy her job. We were blessed to see killer whales and a bay humpback who put on a show for us, breaching and being so playful. It was exciting and I highly recommend the whale watching. Our driver then dropped us off at the Mendenhall glacier with instructions to take the shuttle back to town. No other information was given. A little disappointing after such a wonderful trip with Marina and her crew.

We booked this trip online from the UK before setting off for our cruise along the coast of Alaska. Apart from the fact that the cruise organised trip was full, this Juneau trip was less money! We were a little anxious about whether we would see any whales and if we’d get back to our ship in time - I’m sure these are common concerns so hope this review helps: We need not have worried! The trip was amazing!! We were in safe hands with Captain Brenden. There was lots of space for us to see and the crew (Jayden and Charlie) were very knowledgable and entertaining. Jayden’s whale-bringing dance was a wonder to behold!! We saw lots of humpback whales and got some great pictures. Many bald eagles and a pack of seals too Oh, and we all got back in good time Thank you Juneau Tours for an unforgettable experience!!
