Overview

Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

The meeting place is under the cables in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
All ports or docks are within 10 minutes walking distances, except one - the A Dock - which provides a “Downtown” shuttle to the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
At time of booking, cruise ship passengers must provide the name of their ship
A moderate amount of walking is involved.
No food is allowed at the Mendenhall Glacier.
Tour operates in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately in layers and for the likely chance of rain. It is recommended that you wear warm layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and comfortable slip-proof shoes
Always check with us regarding the shuttle schedule if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours at the Glacier park

Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway

This is our meeting point. We chose it because it is easy to spot from everywhere. We meet under the cables of the aerial gondola.

Inside Passage

We will drive you via bus out to Auke Bay Harbor, where you board our custom whale watching boats

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

We drive you via bus to this beautiful park. Time spent here depends on the time of day you arrive. Refer to your tour guide for the most accurate information.

What a disappointment. There was little time to do anything except watch a brief video at Mendenhall Glacier. We understand you cannot control whether or not you see whales. However, the mate did not offer to help anyone on the boat as we watched a lady struggle to board. The sound system was terrible so we understood little that was said. The bus driver would not listen so he could let us off the bus at our ship. We had to walk in the rain for a long distance when it was unnecessary.

The place were we board is about 20 minutes from the city center. The boat was comfortable and the crew was friendly and professional. I was are able to see orcas and whales. The bay was very quiet and I had a sunny afternoon. After the boat I went the Mendenhall Glacier, an impressive nature wonder. I didn’t had much time there but it was worthwhile.

Fabulous tour! Booked in combo w/ Skagway tour, got a small discount. Well organized, lots of fun. On whale watch, Capt. Dan, Danielle and Lukas were awesome – very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and professional. We saw lots of whales (orcas and humpbacks), seals and porpoises. Boats are small enough that we could move around and get great pictures. We moved on to Mendenhall Glacier and had free time there. Unbelievably beautiful. We took the short walk to Nugget Falls for an upclose and personal interaction with the gorgeous falls and spectacular view of the glacier. Highly recommend!
