The Amish Farm and House
Sit back, relax and let us take you through the real Amish country backroads. Your driver-guide will drive 25 miles into countryside not easily found on our own. From the window, youā€™ll see Amish homes, schools and farms. Depending on the season you might see Amish working in their fields, children riding on scooters and horse & buggies traveling to and from. Your driver-guide will be narrating as you see the Amish going about their everyday life. Youā€™ll learn about agriculture, farming techniques, weddings, family traditions and how they live in our ā€˜modern worldā€™. Itā€™s not just all on the bus; we make two stops at Amish farms where youā€™ll get to interact with the Amish folks. Youā€™ll have the opportunity to purchase goods made from the very hands who made them! (not on Sundays)

The bus tour was good to get introduced to the area. The house was mostly a repeat of info on bus tour. Tim was a great tour driver. Wish we had stopped at a few more places instead of so long at two. But if you are here for a few days itā€™s a good way to get acclimated to the area. Then go back on your own. Itā€™s a beautiful area and beautiful people.

The tour wasn't exactly what we were expecting, but thought it would be a little more informative. Our driver was nice and did share some info as we drove around. Sometimes we got the feeling that the answers to some of our questions were more of a guess than actual facts. We made two stops. The first one was to a family farm that had a few baked goods and a couple items of fresh produce. There wasn't a tour or anything, we just kinda looked around for about 10-15 min after everyone bought their goods. Then we had an option of a place with ice cream and souvenirs or to a quilt shop. We all said quilt shop but got convinced to go to the ice cream place. It was definitely a tourist trap, but had really good ice cream and some things to buy (not sure how much was actually made by amish other than the food items). Back to the house we went after our 1.5 hour long bud ride. Some of the pictures on the tripadvisor were accurate but quite a few are not. The lady giving the tour was nice but also seemed to kind of guess when answering some of the groups questions. The farm itself just didn't feel like a farm at all. I guess it's understandable since it's between a Target and a housing development. They did have some animals and things to see, but it definitely felt very tourist trappy (if that's a word). For the price, it wasn't bad. We had higher expectations but overall it was kind of an average experience. The description of things on TA made it seem like it would be a bit more immersive than what we experienced.

Hi we are sorry the tour did not meet your expectations. On our tours, we give information on the drive and then let people check out the stops on their own. Our farm predates the Target and dates back to 1719. On the plus side the Amish love Target! It is located next to some Amish farms in the back, not a housing development. Thanks for leaving a review!

We had a great tour of Lancaster from our bus driver Tim! He was very knowledgeable and provided excellent service and recommendations for our quest to see as much as we could while we were in Lancaster. The bus was comfortable, and we went to a Amish Quilt shop on a family farm where we met several of the family members. Beautiful gardens and homes on our tour.
