I really enjoyed the entire experience, but my favorite was the bus trip around Amish country. The Bus Tour Guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. And your food was very delicious! I was a bit disappointed with the Amish House tour for a few reasons -- first the House had a feeling of being staged. Secondly, having the coffin sitting in one of the bedrooms was a bit unsettling. Maybe there is a more appropriate place in the house or grounds for it to be sitting. And last, Lena, our House Tour Guide was not very knowledgeable of Amish life and traditions and her presentation was very boring.

So happy to hear you enjoyed the bus tour and touring Amish Country! Seeing the beautiful countryside and stopping at Amish stores is so much fun. We don't understand your comment about the house tour being staged. The house was built in 1805, and the last Amish family that lived here was in 1955. Our decor and room set up is the same way the Amish family would've left it, authentic and true. There is no longer an Amish family living here and that is why our farmhouse is now a museum. We understand your concerns about the coffin being in the boy's bedroom. This is set up as an educational purpose to teach our guests about the end of life for the Amish. Lena has been a tour guide with us for over 15 years. She is by far the most qualified tour guide on our staff. She has many personal relationships with Amish and is a native to Lancaster County. We've never once questioned Lena's knowledge of the Amish.

The van ride was very good; our driver was very friendly and knowledgeable about the Amish people and their live style. It was a beautiful ride through the local countryside and two stopped we made were at very nice shops. The house tour of the church area, kitchen and two bedrooms was informative. The working farm is more for children. The families I saw there seemed to enjoy it, but it was my least favorite part of the package being an adult. If I had to do it over I would have only done the van ride, it is well worth the money.

We started out with bus tour which was very informative. My 8 year old granddaughter was engaged the entire time and she gets bored easily. The 2 stops were nice. Baked goods and soft pretzels for sale were delicious. Next was the house tour. Again my granddaughter was fully engaged and wanted to know if we could do it again. Last stop was the farm where I could not pull her away from feeding the goats. She really enjoyed the one room school house where she played teacher and I was the student. The Amish scooters were also a hit. I basically had to drag her out of there at the end of the day and she wanted to know if we could come back tomorrow. We had a wonderful day.
