The Amish Farm and House
Sit back, relax and let us take you through the real Amish country backroads. Your driver-guide will drive 25 miles into countryside not easily found on our own. From the window, youā€™ll see Amish homes, schools and farms. Depending on the season you might see Amish working in their fields, children riding on scooters and horse & buggies traveling to and from. Your driver-guide will be narrating as you see the Amish going about their everyday life. Youā€™ll learn about agriculture, farming techniques, weddings, family traditions and how they live in our ā€˜modern worldā€™. Itā€™s not just all on the bus; we make two stops at Amish farms where youā€™ll get to interact with the Amish folks. Youā€™ll have the opportunity to purchase goods made from the very hands who made them! (not on Sundays)

This experience is so wonderful. Our tour guide was excellent and the content was very educational. We enjoyed learning about Amish home life during the house tour, and the attached little farm and schoolhouse was also nice to stroll through. The scooter track was VERY fun :) Nice gift shop. The bus tour guide was so friendly and took us to some very special places. We interacted with Amish in intimate small groups and were able to purchase fresh baked items from the hands that made them, hot chocolate and hand made decor/goods! We also went to an Amish owned store with other yummy treats and crafts/goods. It was so amazing to see them plowing their fields with horses! Loved this Amish Farm and House and bus tour and highly highly recommend!

Hi Stephanie! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. It sounds like you had a great time on all of our tours! The Scooter Run is probably one of the best things to do on the farm, so glad you tried it. Meeting the Amish and the hands who made your baked goods and crafts is a great experience, very happy you took a bus tour with us! Thank you for your kind words about the gift shop, and our guides... we will pass your kind words along.

My boyfriend and I did the bus and farm tour and it was a great way to kick off our weekend trip to Lancaster! Our guide, Debbie was very knowledgeable about not only Amish traditions and culture but also the families that lived in the neighborhood. She showed us around an Amish familyā€™s farm (with their permission of course!) and she taught us about buggies and farm life. She was also happy to answer any questions that we came up with. We made a couple stops at Amish-owned businesses and I got to try the most delicious soft pretzel of my life and buy homemade apple butter for my mom. The self-guided farm tour back at the Amish Farm and House property was very nice too! It had lots of different animals (even alpacas!), a nice scenic walking path, a scooter run, and other cool things to check out. We had a really nice time and we learned a lot!

Thank you for letting us be your guide through Amish Country! Debi is a great guide and it sounds like you stopped at some pretty neat Amish places. You're right about the soft pretzels... they are SO good. Happy to hear that you also enjoyed the self-guided farm tour and the alpacas. Hopefully, you'll be able to visit Amish Country again and try our guided house tour.

Our tour guide, Dale, was so knowledgeable that we left the tour feeling so informed about the Amish peoples. We loved the motor tour. The farm house tour was somewhat disappointing as the guide was quite monotone and much information provided was redundant to that which we had already heard on the prior tour. Families with extremely young children should forgo this experience, as the children often become bored and a distraction to other patrons.

Hello! Dale is one of the best bus tour guides we have at the farm. We are so happy you got to see the beauty of Amish Country and learn while doing it. We also recommend that families with young children should skip the house tour, but take full advantage of the 15-acre farm and animals outdoors!
