The Amish Farm and House
Sit back, relax and let us take you through the real Amish country backroads. Your driver-guide will drive 25 miles into countryside not easily found on our own. From the window, youā€™ll see Amish homes, schools and farms. Depending on the season you might see Amish working in their fields, children riding on scooters and horse & buggies traveling to and from. Your driver-guide will be narrating as you see the Amish going about their everyday life. Youā€™ll learn about agriculture, farming techniques, weddings, family traditions and how they live in our ā€˜modern worldā€™. Itā€™s not just all on the bus; we make two stops at Amish farms where youā€™ll get to interact with the Amish folks. Youā€™ll have the opportunity to purchase goods made from the very hands who made them! (not on Sundays)

Very interesting and informative tour. Fun for the whole family. The bus tour was more of trying to get you to buy products than an introduction to Amish life.

This is a two-part review. The guided bus tour done by Debbie was very good. She deserves 5 stars! Debbie did an exceptional job driving our group and giving us many interesting information/details about the Amish community. Debby has a great personality and made our experience fun and fresh. We were laughing along the way. Thank you Debby for giving us such a wonderful experience. Then why the two-star review? Because of the house tour guide Martha. The older lady, Martha, is very knowledgeable. We can appreciate knowledge. However, she deflated our experience very quickly. At the start of the tour, Martha stopped her speech, point-blank, and embarrassed my family in front of everyone. In a condescending manner, Martha told us to silence our newborn. Why? Because our newborn made a sound. When Martha heard that sound her facial expression changed and gave us the look of an obsessive/controlling person who lost control. She began to argue with us and told us that they didn't recommend the tour for children younger than 4 years old. After it was established that this was a recommendation and not an authoritarian order, we proceeded with the tour. Martha was very anxious during the entire tour and rushed through it. Before the tour ended, Martha crossed the line when she asked the group to applaud and congratulate the children on the tour as she said, and I quote " First of all let me congratulate the children here for behaving. We have had some monsters the past". Our families go to the Amish Farm and House experience to have a great experience, not to get scolded by a tour guide. It appears that Mrs. Martha needs to retire. This could have been a 5-star review. However, the administration would have to make a few changes.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and your feedback. Thank you for the kind words about Debi! We are glad that you enjoyed your bus tour and will pass your compliments on to Debi! We apologize for your house tour experience. While it is true that the house tour is not recommended for young children we understand that people with young kids may still want to take the tour and we are happy to accomodate. We do ask individuals with children to step out if there is a disruption but this should always be handled with respect, kindness, and grace. It does not appear that you received the kindness and respect that you deserved and this is unacceptable. We will speak with the staff member involved and take the appropriate action. We encourage you to reach out to us at [email protected] so that we may refund your house tour and speak with you in more detail.
