Overview

Desert Highlights is Moab's original canyoneering guide service. This full day canyoneering tour visits a route that Desert Highlights' founder created as a technical guided canyoneering route in the late 1990's. Here, we explore an area that most people would not visit on their own. With the use of ropes and other technical gear, a competent guide and a sense of adventure, we are able to explore areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.

Amazing day with Jake as our guide. Family and friends from Boston, Philadelphia and New York City get together for a week of adventure. Didn’t quite expect The level of canyoneering however Jake was extremely patient and calming and couldn’t believe how safe Canyoneering is. Started the day hiking through a canyon off the tourist path for amazing breathtaking views. A secret hidden treasure! Jake - Thank you for the lifetime memories!

Ky and her team were remarkably professional, knowledgeable, and capable. The rental process was seamless and our day in the canyon was one we will never forget. Ky made us feel safe and led us through an unbelievable day. On this full day excursion, we did not encounter any other groups, which was an added bonus to the trip.

I can't believe it has taken me so long to write this review considering the awesome experience we had. This group is professional, made us feel safe, knew the area like the palm of their hands, was accommodating, was reasonably priced and a barrel of laughs. Go with them! You won't be sorry.
