Overview

Desert Highlights is Moab's original canyoneering guide service. This full day canyoneering tour visits a route that Desert Highlights' founder created as a technical guided canyoneering route in the late 1990's. Here, we explore an area that most people would not visit on their own. With the use of ropes and other technical gear, a competent guide and a sense of adventure, we are able to explore areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.

We had an amazing experience canyoneering with Desert Highlights! If you are in Moab you have to book an adventure with them! Melissa was extremely helpful with all her suggestions for our booking. Jake was an awesome guide, very friendly, skilled and knowledgeable; and he made us feel very comfortable and safe! We had never done any canyoneering before and are so glad that we did this trip. It was fabulous! Highly recommend Desert Highlights!!

What a fantastic day!!! This was one of the most fun experiences I've ever had!!! Climbing up the canyon and rappelling down were both equally thrilling! Our guide Ed was great - confident and calm and a good teacher (which we needed since 3 of the 4 of us hadn't rappelled before). We did the Pool Arch trip which included 3 rappels and some fun climbing "challenges" that required learning some new ways to get around on the rocks. SO much fun...highly recommend this activity and Desert Highlights!

One of the most fun things we have ever done! We went with Kai to Pool Arch and had a blast. Would have signed up for a second day if we had the time. Love that they have private tours. Highly recommend!!
