Private 6 Hour Tour of Selma and Montgomery Civil Rights Sites

Overview
This is a driving tour of all the historical sites in Montgomery and then we retrace the 1965 Selma To Montgomery Voting Right March and cross The Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama.

We spend approximately 3 hours of the tour in Montgomery passing by various points of interest which include Dexter Church, Dexter King Parsonage, Gray Hound Bus Terminal, Alabama State University and the State Capitol.

From here, we are at the ending point of the Voting Rights March. We will work backwards and retrace the steps to the beginning of the historical 1965 Voting Rights March. If I could give more stars I would. This was a phenomenal tour and Mr. Jake Williams is a consummate professional, a brilliant historian and thoughtful tour guide.i traveled with my teenage son who is often slow to give compliments and when we got back he said, ā€˜that was a very good tour’ We loved the side bar conversations about culture and context and the experiential approach. He also has a great van and excellent food recommendations!!. I’ve already recommended this tour to everyone I know who’s considering coming. THANK YOU!!

As others have written, it is impossible to overstate how terrific this tour is under the guidance of Jake. I've been a life-long student of human rights, but still learned so much today. The experience of seeing the actual sites is overwhelming. And Jake provides so much history and context while telling a very human story. Not only is he an excellent historian, he is thoughtful, kind, and has a good sense of humour. It was a privilege to spend time with him. Do not leave Montgomery without taking this tour.

Jake, our tour guide, knew the history of the Selma to Montgomery Civil Rights marches! His personal experiences and insights added extra insight to our tour. It was a fantastic look at a pivotal time in U.S. history. A must-do tour for anyone interested in civil rights.
