Grand Teton National Park
The full-day Grand Teton National Park tour will begin close to sunrise to maximize the hours of the day when wildlife is most active. Your naturalist guide will seek out wildlife hotspots, often off the beaten path on unmarked dirt roads in our comfortable 4wheel drive safari vehicles. Make use of our Swarovski spotting scopes and binoculars to view the daily habits of local fauna, including moose, elk, bison, pronghorn antelope, mule deer, wolves, black bears, grizzly bears, bald eagles, and trumpeter swans. After a morning session of uninterrupted wildlife observation, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch, then we’ll continue to explore the natural landscape of the park and if desired by the group, we’ll embark on a short walk, along easy terrain, to observe the smaller wonders of this park. Make sure to pick your expert guide’s brain on topics like animal behavior, animal adaptations, the geology of the area, local botany, and the cultural history of this special place.

We had an amazing tour with Billy on Saturday Oct. 5th. We did 3 private tours while in Wyoming with 3 different companies and this one with Billy was by far the best. He is relativiely new to the company but is extremely knowlegable and well read about the area. He said the company requires guides to do a large amount of reading before being hired. He was terrific at sharing his knowledge on our 8 hour tour. Plus Eco tours had numerous guides out that day and they all communicate with each other. We were able to see Grizzly 610 right at the start of the day due to this communication network. Then he took us to all the areas we had not seen and shared a lot about wildlife and history in the process. I can not recommend this company and particulary Billy's guide services more highly.

Wow, what a great review! We're deeply proud that we were your best tour experience. Billy is a phenomenal guide with seemingly endless knowledge about the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. It is paramount that our guides have extensive knowledge of the area, so we require our team to put in a lot of work and be up to speed on all the latest research and findings from the GYE. Thank you so much for touring with us! Cheers, Kelsey

Where to begin? Our tour exceeded every expectation we had. Laura, our guide, did an amazing job of taking us off the beaten path to get a wide range of experiences. We saw herds of bison, groups of pronghorn, elk, otters, an eagle, and even a coyote chasing (and catching, we believe) a deer across a field. One could expect to see these things on a "wildlife tour," of course, but it was everything else that really made this day memorable. Laura is the O.G. at Eco Tours, and her knowledge and experience was, frankly, incredible. The day was filled with stories and information spanning all of the "ologies" - biology, ecology, geology, ornithology, etymology - as well as history of the geography and figures central to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and past and current conservation efforts. Everywhere we turned she had another factoid about the land, why a certain tree grew somewhere, what people used this or that plant for, why bears are found on one face of a hill while elk are on the other, how to tell one hawk from another, etc. She was funny, personable, and informative. I strongly suggest taking her up on the option to get out of the car and walk a little. We spent much of the day driving to areas away from the typical tourist spots and taking short little hikes (maybe 0.5 mile) until we found ourselves in the middle of nature without another human in sight. I feel so lucky to have met and spent time with Laura, and if we ever make it out there again she will be the first person to whom I reach out. I'm sure their other guides are great - the reviews speak for themselves - but our day with Laura was the gleaming highlight of an already spectacular vacation. I cannot recommend her strongly enough.

The day with Will, our guide, was worth every cent. He made our day special and provided us with an experience we'll never forget. We saw things we would have never had a chance to see on our own. We saw moose, elk, bison, wolves, coyotes, eagles, magpies, hawks, swans, blue birds, and we were on the heals of a bear. We even found freshly dug badger holes. All of the tour guides worked together to make sure that all of the EcoTour customers had a special experience. Great to see real teamwork in action. We were paired with one other couple and we all had fun. The lunch was excellent and high quality. Plenty of snacks provided as well. Binoculars provided and Will even sent us a video of the animals we encountered. Great day. Highly recommended. Just a great day all around.
