Amy our tour guide gave our group of 23 a really great overview of the events that happened on that memorable day 9/11. I was a solo participant in the group. We started in front of St. Patrick's Chapel which was a survivor building. We saw the graveyard and bell as well as views from the back of the church. The bell is rung once a year on the 9/11 anniversary. Amy then took us to see the wall monument and plaque dedicated to the fireman who gave their lives on that day. We also went to the building designed by Calatrava known as the Occulus because the top opens to reveal a view of the One World Trade Center building. It is also symbolic because the building is supposed to resemble the wings of a dove. Lastly, she led us to the ground zero area and told us about the north and south pools and waterfalls. She explained the meaning of the waterfalls and their symbolism. She also showed us the Survivor tree and explained it's symbolism and how well it is protected and maintained. Something new I learned is there are actually 7 buildings in the whole complex that were destroyed and they are continuing to rebuild them. There are still 2 buildings to be finished. Our tour concluded with Amy giving us our 2 tickets included in the tour , but to be done on our own. One ticket for the 9/11 underground memorial building and a separate ticket for the Observation deck at the One World Trade building. The tour is basically a great way to relive the events on that day from a New Yorkers point of view and prepare for the museum and One World Trade Tower. I highly recommend it.

Michael Cohen was our private tour guide for the 9/11 Memorial and Ground Zero walking Tour. Mike was an impressive guide, very well informed and so in tune with the respect and emotion this area deserves. Starting our tour with a discussion of where we each were that day just brought such a personal beginning.

I took all of my employees to NYC for their Christmas celebration and this tour was definitely the highlight of the weekend thanks to Ryan McConville. He was able to interject his personal experiences into the tour, which made it even more realistic and emotional. He was extremely articulate and spoke clearly so even my employees that have a slight hearing defect could understand clearly, I would highly recommend this private tour and would ask that Ryan be your tour guide. He is definitely one of the best I have had and I have toured many memorials.
