As we arriving late we wanted a no nonsense pre-booked transfer to our central Manhattan hotel from Newark airport. Unlike la Guardia or JFK there is no state approved statutory fare for taxis from New Jersey this looked on face of it good value in comparison. However be aware of hidden costs!
The company ask you to register on line prior to departure and also phone direct from UK 12hours prior to departure. On arrival at Newark you phone the company again and request pick up after baggage claim. we could have used public transportation phone if we had seen it make sure you print the voucher as our driver did not have facility to accept voucher direct from smart phone. The taxi was no different to any other so don't expect luxury sedan unless you pay the extra . Tolls will cost you an additional 20 And don't forget the tip! So all in all you can expect to pay around 65-70 one way. Given the time of day and long flight it still beat the alternatives and hassle of trying to find another means of transport. For the return transfer we arranged a private transfer in luxury SUV with the he hotel concierge which actually worked out cheaper!
