Private Downtown Newport Walking Tour

Overview
This walk will acquaint you with the layout of Newport while telling the story of how it became what it is now. As a private tour, you can customize what you would like to see or not see, but generally we start along the harbor- Newport's reason for existence- and then make our way through town along some of the more off-the-beaten paths. You'll hear how Newport went from being one of the most thriving and active Colonial cities to the getaway for 19th century Industrialists to the beautiful spot it is today.

While the original design of this tour is not particularly wheelchair friendly, it can easily be adapted to suit your needs. Please let us know if you have mobility concerns when booking your tour.

I have done great self-guided tours, but nothing can replace a seasoned tour guide personally taking you around a city. Erin showed me the best of Newport. I especially loved Thames Street where she also recommended some great places to eat. Erin is very knowledgeable and is a lot of fun too. I highly recommend taking her tour!!!

Walking would have been perfect but not feasible to see both Providence and Newport. Erin scheduled the perfect day for me. Her advance communication put my mind at ease. The meeting point was spot on and she arrived early. Her knowledge of the areas I wanted to see and experience was exactly what I wanted. If I wanted to see it, she showed me. If I wanted her to change the schedule, she adjusted it. If I didn't know where to eat, she made suggestions. And it was so nice she joined me for meals when I insisted. Many guides want a few minutes alone to unwind when dealing with tourists, but I didn't believe Erin wanted it. Our rooftop restaurant at day's end was the perfect ending for the day. As a travel guide, Erin earns Five šŸŒŸ. She is highly recommended.
