May 22, 2015 Had a wonderful time on Capt. Mike's six hour tour. It was our first fishing excursion in Alaska and were already talking about our next trip. Hopefully we'll get to spend the week with a couple of friends in the Alaska Catch cabin! My husband and I maxed out on our Yellow Eye, picked up a cod and a Quillback Rockfish. The boat was very comfortable and the captain was very mild mannered, knowledgeable and entertaining. Couldn't have asked for a better trip but then Capt. Mike got us a close up of an eagle!

We waited for the right tide to go after the famously elusive King Salmon. Captain Mike was a very knowledgeable guide and answered every question I posed to him, from how to read the depth finder to the proper way to reel the fish in and net it and get aboard his beautifully equipped boat..a very fun and enjoyable trip can be had by one and all with Captain Mike at the helm and as your guide..Fish On!!!!

Could not have had a better day out with Captain Mike. From the moment he met us at the dock he took care of everything. His boat is spotless, almost brand new and it's got all the gear needed. After a few minutes of required paperwork we headed out, Mike is a wonderful tour guide and story teller. As soon as our lines went in the water we pulled out two large alaskan cod. Our 19 year old daughter was not convinced she'd enjoy the fishing, and after a short while became a little disheartened, but then she hooked a massive halibut. Mike was amazing, talked her though the whole process and only stepped in when she needed extra help with the power needed to bring the fish on board. Unfortunately it was too large to keep (over 42") so after some great photos that Mike set up for her we let him go. We still managed to catch a bunch of Halibut that were keepers. We also saw porpoises, and a whale. Mike was a great guide and clearly loves what he does. As we headed back to the harbor he made all the arrangements to have out catch filleted, flash frozen, and shipped home to us. Not once were we made to feel like tourists, or that we were simply another charter. (Obviously catching fish is not guaranteed!).
