Our guides will be 6 ft from you and our group will stay 6 ft from other people on the trails. Masks are required for each person when 6 ft distancing isn't possible, when you first meet with your guide, during interpretation, rest stops, view points, & when departing after the tour.

What To Expect

Yosemite National Park

You’ll meet your experienced guide at the trail and set out to see Yosemite from a different perspective. Every tour is designed to take advantage of the best locations available at the time of your visit, with an effort to avoid the crowds, even at the height of the summer season. Travel along less-visited trails with your expert guide, getting an incredible experience of the forest, waterfalls and meadows around Yosemite Valley. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of the Yosemite wilderness while your expert guide provides security and safety on the trail. Your guide will also be available to take photos of your group so that you have amazing shots from your day out in Yosemite!

Yosemite Valley

Choose from two options for your family or group: Beginner Hike Enjoy a pleasant half-day hike on a gentle trail in Yosemite Valley or the High Country with excellent photo opportunities. You’ll have a picnic at a scenic site, either a magnificent vista point or alongside a meadow, lake, or stream. Expect to hike four to five miles with minimal elevation gains on a tour that lasts approximately five hours. Moderate Hike You’ll escape from the crowds and take some of Yosemite’s most scenic trails a little further during a hiking tour that is perfect for novice hikers who want a bit more of a challenge. Expect to hike five to six miles with elevation gains up to 1000 feet (305m) on a tour that lasts approximately six hours.

Would recommend YExplore Yosemite to everyone. Did Mount Hoffman hike with Trevor - best hike made better by a brilliant guide! Trevor made it really fun and was very fit but managed the pace for our level. He was really knowledgeable and arranged the accent and decent for the best experience. We will specially request Trevor if we are ever back again! (Thanks Shoey!) Also a big thank you to Catherine who arranged everything and got the hike all organised with only 24hrs notice-much appreciated.

I booked especially because of the private guided tour that mentioned being personalized to what we want. The staff is really really sweet and wonderful to work with. However, we didn't get the 'Personalized" part applied to our tour. They offered two tours and were a little unclear what we were exactly doing. So we went along with the 10 mile 7 hour tour they suggested. Our main objective was to see as many parts of yosemite as we could in one day. 2.5 miles into our hike, we were spending 7 hrs to just hike around the half doom. 7 hours of looking at half doom. we realized that after this venture we would be too tired to do any additional sightseeing. So at 3 miles we requested that we turn around and use our time and energy to see other sights. Our guide was great about it and took us to a few other additional sights and it all worked out but because we stepped up and spoke up mid-tour. Again, the staff is wonderful but maybe they should improve how to "customize" their tours.

We did the moderate hike to see Sentinel Dome and Taft Point. It was a lot of fun! Ashley was knowledgeable about the park and all of its landmarks. She answered all of our questions in a friendly manner and showed us great vantage points and snacking areas. She was also very accommodating to our slower pace, as we are both fairly new to hiking. Would recommend to anyone looking for an experienced person to show you the ropes during your visit!
