It was the worst experience ever!!! 1. The guide just enjoys "her" hiking. The guide gave no explanation for Yosemite and she knew nothing about Yosemite even if we asked her a question about Yosemite. She only knows trails, but anyone can know trails by Googling. 2. The Guide is a liar. She lied to us that she'd send us a picture and cut off contact after taking the picture. It turned out that she had taken pictures for her work. 3. The next day, we searched for the trail through google and went hiking to another course. We saw her at the top and she saw us, too. But she ran away because she was not honest with us. 4. People do not pay high prices for trails. It is very easy to search trails nowadays. People want to know the history, geography and culture of the area. I always take a guided tour whenever I trip. For example, when I went to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, etc., I took guided tours. The trips were really good because the guides explained the history, geography and culture of the area. 5. YExplore should not just be busy making money, but should employ competent guides.

I had a brief (too brief:) stay in Yosemite in March and decided to get the most for my money by signing up for a private hike. John, my guide, was fabulous on both a personal and professional level. Two things stand out a month later (beyond the beauty of the place). 1) I ask a lot of questions by nature. John gave great answers to every single one, in addition to stopping to point out a number of fascinating things about Yosemite - all without being "preachy" - it was like walking with a fascinating friend, who delighted in showing you some hidden mysteries and whom you adored by the end of the hike. 2) we acquired a few stragglers, noticing them as they crept closer to us during the hike. This happened twice on the hike (actually, the only two groups we encountered, and, well, John and I were just having so much fun, he was so interesting, that both groups gravitated to us - they just wanted to hang in on the conversation. And they didn't know John was a guide, they just thought he was that interesting and knowledgeable. Catherine, the Operations Director, handled my inquiries, itinerary planning etc and was equally delightful, considerate, thorough and worked with me to make for a perfect adventure. Don 't hesitate to book with this fabulous tour company. I'm already planning a trip back. Just perfect.

Since this trip to Yosemite was the first for my husband, our 10-yr old daughter, and myself, as an adult, we made the right decision to book a moderate private guided hiking tour. Our guide was Ashley and she was amazing! She provided us with a lot of information during our hike, and was also very engaging with our daughter and took time to educate her on some plants, little crawlers, and birds we encountered on the trail. We started at lower Yosemite falls and ended at Mirror Lake. We saw so many incredible, breathtaking and picturesque scenery, abundant waterfalls and flowing creeks! We can’t wait to book another hiking event with YExplore. They are extremely organized and provided good communication! Highly recommended.
