I love hiking and trekking. Since I was going to visit Yosemite for the second time,I thought it was time to walk not only drive. I searched the internet’s and fount YExplore. Catherine could not be more helpful understand and accommodating. Our correspondence was long and I had lots of questions. All answered and explained. I had agreat time and Elspeth was knowledgable and a lovely and pleasant walking companion . If my travels ever take me back to Yosemite I would definitely would contact YExplore again.

Whilst we had fun we felt that our guide could have given us more education along the way.

We were privileged to arrive in Yosemite a few days after a late winter snowstorm to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, and to have John guide us on one intermediate and one moderate hike. We could not have asked for a better guide to help us navigate and enjoy the park in these conditions. For the intermediate hike, John took us to Columbia Rock and then "Oh My Gosh Point" to view the entire length of Yosemite Falls. John gave us traction devices for our shoes (Yukon Charlie's Slip-Nots) and poles so we could climb comfortably and confidently to reach an amazing lookout where no one else had been since the snow fell. Our moderate hike two days later turned into a snowshoeing expedition. John provided the snowshoes and took us up to Inspiration Point where ate lunch overlooking the a beautiful view on what felt like the edge of the world. We would not have been able to do either of these trips without John. His intimate knowledge of the trails, the history of the park, the names of every rock formation, Indian legends, trees, geology, and so much more taught us a lot and gave us a lot to think about. More importantly, his sense of humor, his sensitivity to our needs, and his ability to make us feel safe and taken care of helped us enjoy this remarkable place without worry. He even brought a plastic garbage bag for us to sit on while we ate lunch so our seats stayed dry! We also appreciated the clear communication from Catherine about logistical arrangements. We have no complaints - only happy memories and a desire to come back and do more!
