We had the pleasure of having a solo tour with Isabelle due Covid19 limitations and not too many tourists around June 2020. Five stars are for Isabelle and her deep knowledge of New Orleans, and her friendliness. However, the plantations themselves minimized the true historical facts of slavery which was patronizing in many respects. The last stop was at a beautiful restaurant built at a former plantation which. While the building itself was new, some of the trees where over 400 years old. Which reminded me of living witnesses of what really happened on that land. I appreciated Isabelle, but wished there could been some acknowledgement or disclosure that these plantations do not represent their true history. For that you need to go to the Whitney Plantation which I went on my own and highly recommend if you can.

Thank you so much for your nice compliments and I really am glad you enjoyed our tour. You are absolutely correct, the dark side of this part of American history must be told as well, and that is why we do go to Whitney Plantation on another tour (which does not include lunch) but definitely represents the other side and history of the Southern plantation era and how the whole system was based on the plight of the enslaved! Thank you for bringing up that point, I completely agree! Please come back soon to #Nola! Isabelle C

My best friend and I had such a lovely time at the Laura and Houma plantation. The Laura plantation was unexpectedly lovely with its rich Creole culture and the unique architecture. The Houma house was Devine with a luxurious lunch and dessert that sat beautifully in the carriage house. Ms. Isabelle was lovely and a friendly tour guide that informed us of all the lovely history of Louisiana.

The guide, Renet Brunet, was the best. Incredible knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, energetic and authentic. Can’t say enough good things or recommend him enough.
