What To Expect

Crystal River

Upon arrival at the dive shop, guests will be fitted for wetsuits and asked to watch a brief video from US Fish and Wildlife outlining their encounter with the manatees. The captain and guide will then take the group to the boat and embark all passengers and give a short safety brief. Once underway, the guide will further explain how to interact with the manatees once in the water and fit the guests with their masks and snorkels. While transiting to the swim areas, the captain and guide will present information about the area wildlife and what guests can expect to see during your tour. They will also answer questions and take pictures along the way. The guide will stay with the group the entire time, ensuring that the guests get the most out of their experience, all while taking photos and videos of your adventure!

Really good tour with a lot of manatees. Also got to see some of the springs while on the tour. Nothing bad about it

Went in the morning and had an amazing experience. It was off season but we still saw a lot of manatees and had a great time. Also visited the Crystal River and it was beautiful.

We did the early morning private manatee tour with GCE. Captain Ron and Lauren were GREAT. They were both very good with our young children and we were able to feel totally relaxed and really get the most out of the trip. We were able to be completely flexible and had a chance to snorkel with a manatee, play on the small beach with the kids and even turned back near the end to see dolphins fishing. We chose a private tour as we didn't want to disturb others with our young kids and wanted to be flexible. This was a great option for us and we were very lucky to see pregnant female manatee almost immediately and to be able to snorkel with her. Lauren was great with our 4 year old and helped him to snorkel and see the manatee, leaving my husband and I free to snorkel ourselves. We also enjoyed a selection of doughnuts and hot choc / vanilla coffee! Lauren also took a selection of photos and video clips which saved us from having to think about this too. We got all of these included so that was a great bonus. All in all it was a brilliant trip and we would highly recommend it to anyone. We all loved it, our 4 year son wouldn't leave, he was too happy washing down the wetsuits afterwards!! Thank you Captain Ron and Lauren.
