See all of Washington’s estate and grounds including the purposes of the many original out-buildings. Make a respectful visit to George and Martha Washington’s Tomb. Discover Washington’s first love of farming and see the animal breeds and crops that he experimented with on his estate. Transit to and from Washington in a private SUV.

Old Town

We will pass through Old Town Alexandria. George Washington performed all of his court and market business here.

Tom was a wonderful guide. He is knowledgeable and unscripted. He welcomed all questions and comments even when they were not in keeping with the activity at the moment. We never felt hurried and he welcomed our visit to the gift shop. We also left our purchases in his vehicle and we did not contact him as he had already left. At breakfast the following morning my husband said "There's Tom!" And sure enough he had brought our package to the hotel with out even being asked. What a great outing and experience! Truly he is an Officer and a Gentleman!

On our last day in DC, we spent our morning with Tom going to Mount Vernon. Tom is a wealth of information, friendly and found ways to connect the history to our girls (14 and 11) through their interests. My husband said afterwards that we should have booked Tom for more tours as it added a different level to the experience. Loved the private pick-up, conversation, tips on navigating DC hot spots, and personalized drop-off. Would highly recommend DC Military Tours to anybody and if in the area again would certainly book another tour!

Absolutely the best tour I have ever been on! Tom was friendly, very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. He made sure we had a great Mt. Vernon experience, even offering to run and get me a snack when I mentioned feeling lightheaded. I would happily recommend this tour to anyone!
