Bring sturdy shoes with traction for uneven surfaces, preferably all-in-one shoes for getting wet and crossing waterfall streams

Private tour as a group of five adults & one child. We chose the Road to Hana return trip instead of the loop as we were a little nervous of the narrow rough roads. We had a fantastic day with Keone, who paced the trip well & planned the itinerary around our preferences. He showed us the Rainbow Eucalyptus trees, Waterfalls (including one we swam & paddled in), Coconut Glens for a cheeky dessert before stopping at Hana Farms for lunch (which was lovely - great recommendation Keone!) Lastly we stopped at Black Sand Beach for a paddle & enjoyed beautiful Choc Chip Banana bread at Ho’okipa Beach where we were lucky to see over 20 Green Sea Turtles resting. We were in great hands with Keone who allowed us to fully relax & take in all the breathtaking views & fun stops along the way. Thanks again - was a wonderful day!

I can’t imagine a better way to see the Raod to Hana. This private tour was the highlight of the trip to Maui for my partner and I. Demian picked us up in the early a.m. and from the outset was giving us great information and tidbits about Maui history before we even got to the road to Hana. Once we statrered the long haul to Hana we were given more insight to everything we were seeing on the way from a locals perspective including details about trees, flowers, animals, agriculture and more. He had us stop and explore all the “must sees”, but the best was he took us on small hikes to see waterfalls, pools, and exclusive beaches and views that were more remote and were truly more special. I know we wouldn’t have seen these on a normal bus tour. His knowledge and obvious enthusiasm made it all the better. We researched other tours that were cheaper—and would have included a bus load of other folks—and I’m so glad we paid a bit more for this private tour as it was totally worth it ...and really not that much more $$$ considering all the extra stuff we got to see with all the detailed history and commentary. We would definitely book his team again for another Maui exportation next time we’re back!
