Loved this day with Shawn. He was knowledgeable about the island history and showed us some really cool secluded places on the island. Walked on the Kings Path, saw some wall markings, enjoyed off roading down to the beach. Truely amazing day and well worth our money and time. If you want to enjoy your day, book this trip

Our crew Josh, Bek, Fisher and myself recently went on the Rocky Coast Excursion which was a great opportunity to see a more remote side of Maui. Experiencing 4Wheeling along grounds where ancient Hawaiians lived, fished and defended their shores was truly an experience. Sean has modified his Jeep to tackle any of challenging terrain the lava fields on the backside of Haleakala have to offer. Sean really puts on a first class off-road experience from a Jeep family this is highly recommended taste of Maui off-road.

Where do I begin? We only had a week in Maui & unlike a lot of other places I’ve been, you really have to book your excursions a few months in advance because things fill up quickly! We only booked a luau & a dinner cruise in advance. We thought with a rental, we’d be able to get around to anywhere else we wanted to go. Well, that plan didn’t work out since a lot of the places to sightsee involve driving on very narrow & winding roads in the mountains! If you’re already from a mountainous place, & are used to drives like that, then your fine! We’re from very flat Florida & found the drives to be scary & overwhelming. So, we ended up booking a tour to the road to Hana & we wanted to do one more tour where we could really get around to places we absolutely wouldn’t dare to drive. That’s where Maui Jeep Excursions came in & saved the day! Where did we find this company?…On Trip Advisor! Luckily for us, we were able to get a last minute reservation for the next day!! Sean, the owner & tour guide, immediately responded & confirmed our reservation. I must say, that the day trip with Sean was more than anticipated!!! He exceeded our expectations!! He took us on a private tour of the rocky coast! We had no idea we’d be driving on actual lava rocks! How cool is that? Along the way, he gave us some interesting history of the area & explained about the nearby volcanos & took us to the black sand beaches! He also stopped along the way, so that we could take pictures! We even ended up on the road to where Oprah lives! No, there was no Oprah sightings! 😂 At some point, Sean took us to a secluded area that had a picnic table & bathroom. We ate lunch by the water in the most magnificent setting! He even had a tablecloth for the picnic table, water bottles, & delicious Hawaiian juices! Don’t worry about food! He has you meet him at a local grocery store where you buy what you want to take with you for lunch & he has a cooler for any drinks you have! He really thought of everything to make it a great trip! Things you’ll need: A light jacket, wear sneakers, a swimsuit and/or beach shoes if the sea isn’t too rough. I highly recommend this tour! Sean is super personable! We felt like we’ve known him for years by the end of the trip! If we ever visit Maui again, I will definitely book him for other tours that he does! Thank you so much, Sean!!!
