We wanted to go on a tour to learn more about the spiritual and natural history side of Sedona. Our tour guide, Larry, was great at captivating our attention but at the same time gave us very detailed information about everything from the plant life to the history of some of the habitat and their spiritual meaning. I feel this company is much more in tune with the natural surroundings of Sedona then other more commercialistic and contradictory jeep companies. As a result, it was a very lovely experience and well worth the money and time.

We went with this tour as it focused more on the earthy spiritual side. Our tour guide was fun but was quite spiritual and told us a lot about the vortexes and a lightless bit of science and geology. He took us to a place we would not have been able to access on our own with awesome views on sunset. We got great panoramic photos. Just remember in cooler months to take a jacket but the seats are heated and blankets provided .

We took the Vortex-Medicine Wheel tour based on good reviews and a New York Times article that appeared several years ago. The bottom line is that we are glad that we took it and have no regrets. That being said, are there things that can be improved. Is it worth the approximate $120? Yes and No. Our tour guide was knowledgable, informative, fun, entertaining and in love with Sedona -- and it shows. As we were atop Mystic Vista at sunset -- the sun was going down in the west as the moon was rising in the east -- Larry played his Native American flute and the experience was one of the highlights of our stay in Sedona. As also mentioned in many of the other reviews, we would have never found this place on our own nor did we come across it in any of the website we had visited. Getting there is a fun and bumpy off-road jeep ride for maybe a 1/2 mile -- which is just about the perfect amount of time to experience the off-road adventure! (After all, we signed up for a Vortex Tour; not an off-road adventure tour.) You then climb maybe 50 feet to a plateau which is majestic and awe-inspiring. Those are the highlights and it's hard to put a price on that. What does the commercial say? "Priceless!" However, I would have preferred a couple of more Vortex stops (we wound up doing that on our own) as opposed to almost an hour devoted to the Medicine Wheel ceremony in which Larry mostly talks non-stop. I think a good approach would be to take the Vortex Tour, make sure it coincides with sunset, and if you're thinking of doing the Medicine Wheel -- which includes the Vortex Tour -- forget it: just do the Vortex Tour and opt out of the Medicine Wheel. Not worth the extra money.
