My husband and I were recently in San Francisco and took a Segway tour of Golden Gate Park with Johannes as our private tour guide. He was fantastic as a guide, and took us to little known areas of the park that we would never have seen on our own. He also knew that we had ridden Segways before so he did not make us take the whole training class, but instead tested us on our abilities on the Segway and filled in the places that he felt we needed to improve. He also taught us some better ways to control the Segway when going up or down very steep hills (which are many in San Francisco). Because of this, we had the courage to take the private Segway tour or Lombardy Street and the hills of San Francisco on a different day. But we had such a fun day with Johannes. He was fun, funny and very informative. He knew a lot about the history of the area as well as the history of the park. If you have the time to take a Segway tour, it is the best way to see a LOT of this enormous and beautiful park. I highly recommend both Johannes AND the Electric Tour Company Segway Tours!

We loved our private Segway tour of Golden Gate Park. Jeff was a great tour guide. He was fun and engaging and full of park information. My son (18) was a first-time Segway rider and Jeff had him up and running in minutes. I would highly recommend this tour.

I booked for my teenage son and myself a private 3 hour tour with Jeff. for July 8, 2021 (Golden Gate Tour). I booked the private since it was our first time outing since Covid began and because my son is extremely cautious so I thought it might take a lot of time to adjust -- as both my son and I were first-timers on a Segway, It was incredible! Not only did we both feel comfortable on a Segway due to sufficient training, appropriately timed reminders on what to do vs not to do (mainly for me :) ), etc. but we thoroughly enjoyed what we learned about Golden Gate Park -- some hidden gems right in front of us, some made us smile and ask, some were more sobering, really -- truly incredible. I won't give those away here :). I'd recommend a private tour as it's an incredible value for the $ -- or, if a group tour makes better sense for you, be sure to book Jeff! Expert instructor, deeply knowledgeable, curious, engaged, funny, etc. ENJOY! We will be back to enjoy other tours, for sure! p.s. Note that Segways, while invented to help those with mobility disabilities, don't have any kind of option (think of a side car, etc.) for those who use wheelchairs or struggle with mobility. This has nothing to do with SF Electric Tour Company -- just something I want to share if it applies to you (as this means I can't enjoy this activity with my other teenage son.)
