Private Snowshoeing Adventure from Badger Pass to Dewey Point

Overview
Snowshoeing in Yosemite is an amazing experience! It is an easy sport to learn and offers you the chance to get into the less-traveled winter wonderland that the Yosemite backcountry becomes. For those looking to fully embrace all winter has to offer, head up to the high country and snowshoe from the Badger Pass Ski Resort to Dewey Point, an incredible outcropping that offers expansive views of the Yosemite Valley, including the towering El Capitan.

When you get here, you are pretty much away from the main area of hiking. We arrived early for snow shoeing. The trail for snow shoeing is to the left of the chair lifts. The snow condition was sparse but we managed to get a workout. From the bottom of the lift to the top is a little over a mile where you can see the first glimpse of the valley. Then you can continue and circle the trail and end up below on the right side of the chair lifts. Here, they have lodge to get food but very limited selection. After lunch, it snowed for a bit and we got to touch and feel the snow. It was a very exhilarating day after the snow shoeing.

We were a high school group doing the snowshoeing adventure from Badger Pass to Dewey Point. Lasting adventures was great to work with Highlights of working with this company were how knowledgeable the guides were of Yosemite (e.g. being familiar with the trails, knowing the names of peaks, suggestions of hikes to do, etc.). They were also very organized with the gear and meals they provided, as well as the activities they had planned for our group. The guides were also very friendly with our students and took a genuine interest in getting to know them. They were professional and cooperative in working with us adults too. Lastly, the preparation leading up the trip (e.g. going through med forms, communicating packing lists, etc.) was very well done.
