As a first timer it was great learning how to surf with Hokali. Signing up was super simple and they took care of getting me a board and wetsuit as well. Once at the beach, my instructor Scotty taught me about the Hawaiian value of Kuleana (really cool), ocean safety, rip currents and how to pop up. I felt safe in the water, he was very supportive, focused and didn’t let me drift away, hahaha. It was a completely different way to be in contact with nature and an incredibly fun educational experience. I definitely plan to keep taking lessons 😎 Thanks Scotty and Hokali!!! You guys rock!!!

Took a beginner's lesson with Ignacio and it was an amazing experience. We warmed up, practiced the basics outside of the water and then jumped in. With some help and constant feedback I was able to go a bit deeper into the ocean and stand on the board for a few waves. I've already seen coach Ignacio one more time to keep the practice going. His energy is contagious and he makes surfing a very thoughtful and fun experience. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend HOKALI for surf lessons. My son is 10yrs old, he wanted to learn to surf & the instructor Travis from HOKALI was amazing! He was very comfortable to be around & had a lot of tips to share, he taught my son a lot of fundamentals & things that watching videos didn't explain. I feel a lot better now that Travis taught my son some things that he will be able use when he goes surfing again & he will be able to surf well some day. My son was able to get up his first time thanks to the help of HOKALI instructors & also his balance with snowboarding helped too. It was very reasonably priced, I looked around & some places charge up to $150 for a private lesson.
