Overview

Escape from the crowded tourist areas for a private, 90-minute, 1-on-1 surf lesson near Lahaina, Maui. Choose from an early-, mid-, or late-morning time frame. This surf session will focus on water safety, proper surf technique, surfing style, and etiquette. The experienced, professional instructor guarantees students will stand up, catch a wave, and leave the beach as a certified surfer. All lessons are private so they will never combine guests from separate parties. All the necessary equipment — rash guard, state-of-the-art soft-top board, and reef shoes — included.

The whole surfing experience was marvelous. Sharky is an excellent instructor - very patient, skilled, and encouraging. He helped me stand up on the first try. And it only got better from there. Everything about the experience was breathtaking. A turtle popped up right next to me as I was sitting on my board and you could see a whale thrashing its tail just a few hundred yards away. Sharky is wonderful. As an added bonus, he stuck around with me past the scheduled time of the lesson, until my body gave out and I couldn't ride another wave. He clearly loves what he does and he's very good at it. Plus he's a kind, lovely person. Ask for him when you book!

Had a great experience with my instructor Eric and Rivers to the Sea. The booking process was easy, they had a good selection of dates and times during my vacation. Eric scouted out the surf location before my lesson and ended up moving locations to ensure that I had the best experience. I hope to be able to book with them again next time I'm on Maui.
