The tourguide John didn“t particular made an event out of this far over-priced tour. Being a private tour of two, he even didn“t bother to find out the name of my friend. The ipad screen being smudgy and pictures difficult to read (on my comment on this I got back a “o yes, that happens“). Mentioned we keep kosher he elaborated on a standard beef jerky joint, which we should really try. Well yes, not for us. The start of the tour is in front of the magnificent Eldridge Str Synagogue. I knew the entrance fee was not included, but also John intended to discourage us from going in because the tour was after all a food tour. All in all, we have had many, many excellent tourguides and believe John has a few things to learn how to attend to tourists (listening better never hurt anyone).

Liz was an incredible walking tour guide! She is so knowledgeable and passionate about the city, its history, and its people. 20/10 tour skills! There was an awesome variety of foods to try and it was all delicious! We loved that on this tour you are shown places, given history, and given suggestions, but then choose which foods to purchase and eat. Most food tours pre-select and limit what you're going to eat, so that was a nice difference and allowed us to tailor it to our food preferences. We loved trying foods from a variety of cultures and it was a great walk around the Lower East Side. 10/10 recommend!
