What To Expect

Sawgrass Recreation Park

For the most in-depth and personal experience, take a small group private tour of the Florida Everglades’ and its unique subtropical ecosystem and animals. The Alligator & Reptile Exhibit is included and takes about 45 minutes to enjoy. Important Note: Pricing is based on a per person basis; regardless of number of people booking, you are buying out the whole boat for your private tour. All ages are welcome to enjoy the airboat tour. Children 3 years and under need not be included in the guest count as there are no additional charges for this age.

Fun boat ride but didn’t see any alligators. Apparently too warm for them! Can’t imagine they ever come out in Florida then 🤷‍♀️

First and foremost don’t take this tour expecting to see gators while on the water in the airboat (that is the luck of the draw) but they do have a gator exhibit you can see up close (on land). Take it to enjoy a scenic airboat ride across the grasslands. We signed up for a private morning 90min tour. Our guide Chuck was very nice and did not disappoint. He was informative of the grasslands and took it slow and even stopped in some areas hoping to catch a glimpse of one. We were fortunate as he found one poking its head and eyes of the water but due to the morning heat they don’t surface often. We continued on and he slowed and stopped throughout the cruise to chat & talk as you can’t talk while moving (too loud but they do provide you with ear protection). It was also very interesting to see a home built in the middle of these grasses that you would never know about and how it came to be. Always wanted to take one of these airboat rides and I’m glad we did, it was very enjoyable. On hot sunny days I’d recommend to go very early or late afternoon as the sun is a scorcher while on the water. They do allow water bottles to bring on too. Nice gift shop with cold beverages and washrooms on-site also.

What an experience!! Bucket list item at its finest. We booked the private tour as there were 6 of us and we were all so excited to do this. We had Mike as our Captain and his love for the job really came through. He was quite knowledgeable of the Everglades and took us on a great tour. We saw 3 alligators up close and one or two at a distant. So exciting! We were there when they opened and they started the tour right away. I would highly recommend this tour! And, I would be happy to go again. Bucket item checked.
