The tour itself was great. Nice overview of Portland and the history. The poor review comes from the communication between Trip Advisor and the the tour company. The company charges $36 per person for a tour but the tour time we were looking at did not have 5 spots available so I had an option for a private tour for $360 for 2 to 10 people. I booked this one but received a call shortly after from the tour company telling me that the private tour was not an option and I would have to be there at 1030 to be on that tour or a tour was not an option. I was still charged the $360 (which is double the cost) and we had to be an hour earlier than we originally booked. I feel that if we weren’t getting the private tour half my money should be refunded and Trip Advisor should take the Private Tour option off their site if it does not align with what the company offers.

We had a great time sitting in the back of the vintage fire truck. The tour was informational and fun. We learned so many historical and interesting facts about Portland and the surrounding area. The young man narrating the tour did an excellent job providing details and answering all of our questions. I would whole heartedly recommend this tour.

Our group of 12 took the private tour late in the afternoon for an hour around Portland, learned a lot about the town's history. Our group included some young children and it was very kid friendly. Would highly recommended.
