Private Walking Tour of Historic Charleston

Overview
Who better to guide you through the heart of Charleston than a native Charlestonian? Discover Charleston's heart and soul as you walk through the picturesque streets and quaint alleyways of Charleston’s Historic District. Guided by Timothy Trouche, an eighth-generation Charleston native and third generation Charleston tour guide, you will learn how “The Holy City” withstood the test of time, rebuilding upon her ashes and ultimately being preserved as the gem you see today. Share in Tim’s hometown knowledge of Charleston’s rich history from its colonial days as Charles Town, through the American Revolution and Civil War. Each tour offers breathtaking views of the harbor, beautifully preserved historic homes, churches and gardens.

Incredible experience with Tim! He had great knowledge and experience and enthusiasm which made the tour fun and informative. We had a group of family ranging from 2 to late 70's and Tim went with the flow and was able to keep everyone entertained.

We booked a group tour with Tim, but as we were the only 2 there we got a private tour for the price of a public tour! Tim brought all of his 8th generation Charleston knowledge together with his prior experience as a carriage tour host to our experience. We learned a lot about the history and architecture of the area coupled with a number of interesting factoids and stories about various events and characters that have contributed to making the city what it is today. The two hour tour passed by quickly, and while we covered a good distance it wasn’t too far or onerous. The time passed quickly in good part due to Tim’s engaging and conversational style. Thoroughly recommend. Chris & Gill

We had a 2 hour tour with Tim in April 2022. Can’t say enough about the tour. Absolutely the best. He is a native of Charleston and you will see the house he grew up in. He has so much knowledge to share. If you love history the tour is amazing.
