This private tour takes 2½ hours. You'd barely notice the time as it's less walking and more fun facts and conversation so you never get tired or bored. The tour goes through all of the Downtown San Francisco: Chinatown, Financial District (there be buried ships!), Embarcadero. We would definitely recommend this tour around the city and do it immediately again! Our guide Philip was really enthusiastic and knew so much about SF. It's a great way to start your stay in San Francisco as you get to see some interesting areas in the city like the union square, chinatown, etc. You get together at the union square and end somewhere around the financial district, which is a good staring point to get to the piers (where you can see the sea-lions). If you want a tour that is not just another tourist trap, take this tour! A local will show you around and give you really interesting facts about the city, this is what you should do!! The tour is free, since there is no upfront cost. You can pay the guide whatever you want based on how much you appreciated the tour. You can take tours around 10 am and 2pm, starting at the union square. Since this is an outdoor activity don't forget to bring some water, maybe a sweater but also bring sunscreen. The weather can be quite surprising in SF! In the middle of the tour there is also a stop if you need to go to the restroom.
