Overview

White Pocket is a place so remote and amazingly unique that it can feel like you have stepped

into another realm where geology decided to bend the rules.

White Pocket's geological formation is made of a thin layer of white sandstone lumped up into

mounds and cracked into polygonal shapes, somewhat like dried out whipped cream. Under

this thin white layer reigns a chaos of yellow, orange and red swirls twisting upon each other. If

you are lucky enough to hike there after a summer thunderstorm, you will enjoy a myriad of

reflection pools, creating beautiful mirroring effects and infinite opportunities of otherworldly

pictures. It is definitely a visual paradise!

Angie was fantastic and such a joy to spend the day with. We had permits for the South Coyote Buttes, and she helped us take pictures and gave us a safe ride.

We had an unforgettable tour of the White Pocket area which was absolutely amazing! Our guide, Hunter, was great! He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the geology of the area. The private tour allowed for the flexibility to focus on areas that interested us. We had a fabulous time and were surprised at how quickly the day flew by. After riding on the dirt roads with Hunter (& his large 4x4!), we were even more glad we booked this tour & didn’t try to get there on our own! We would definitely book with Seeking Treasures again!

Angie was very knowledgeable about White Pocket, a lot of fun, and did a great job navigating the road. That area is insanely cool. Sure, it felt at first like a consolation prize for not winning the Wave lottery but the sandstone there is sculpted by the wind into surreal shapes that makes it look like an alien art gallery. Unforgettable!
