FAME is a full-scale replica of a privateer schooner from the War of 1812 that captured over 20 prizes! We sail up to five times a day between May and October from Pickering Wharf Marina in downtown Salem.

On board our traditional gaff-rigged schooner, you'll get a chance to raise the sails and even steer the boat as we sail Salem Sound and talk about the fisherman, traders, and privateers that played such a central role in the saga of Salem, of Massachusetts, and of the young United States.

This is a great hands-on adventure for all ages — but you can also just sit back and enjoy a beverage and take it all in as we cruise past the historic forts and lighthouses of Salem, Beverly, and Marblehead.

We brought our niece and nephew on the schooner tour and they had a blast. The staff was friendly and gave great history lessons about the boat and let the kids raise the sails and shoot off the cannon.

Surprised my wife with a trip to salem Massachusetts a place she's been wanting to visit for a long time. Let me say this, it was absolutely beautiful. I booked the sunset sail tour to end our busy hustle and bustling weekend around the city of Salem for Halloween. We've never been on a ship before so it was amazing to be able to have such a beautiful and peaceful experience. Sailing in the Boston harbor watching the sun set over beautiful salem was breath taking. We got a chance to help the crew out with steering the ship and raising the sails. Watching my wife help raise the sails was a memorable and funny one at that. The crew, though I don't remember there names and I do really apologize for that, but they were awesome themselves very knowledgeable about some of the history of salem and Boston and the trades route and history of FAME. It was a spectacular and fantastic, relaxing way to end our trip. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone that is visiting either salem or Boston. Thank you very very much for making our very first trip to salem Massachusetts a awesome, memorable and amazing one. We will definitely be coming back next year!
