Overview

Clear Creek is one of the best whitewater rafting rivers in Colorado, and for great reasons. The canyon offers all levels of whitewater challenge, and easy access. The setting includes scenic flats, mining ruins, wildlife, and, of course, exciting whitewater flowing over rocks.

Nearby is Idaho Springs, where the gold rush began. One of the first cities founded in Colorado, in 1859, this quaint town is nestled in the foothills of some of Colorado’s best mountains and holds a unique place in the state’s history. As the place where the Colorado Gold Rush started, this little town holds a lot of secrets, including one of the best river rafting areas in the State!

Conveniently located about 30 minutes West of Denver, and close to Breckenridge, Silverthorne, Dillon, and Winter Park, Clear Creek has rafting trip options for varying ability and experience levels.

We had an amazing trip with Colorado Rafting Company. Our guide Conner made the whole trip a ton of fun. He kept everyone engaged and laughing. The river was getting pretty low, but Connor did a great job of keeping us moving and in the boat. The beginner half day trip was perfect for our kids’ (9,10) first rafting trip. This was a highlight of our time in Colorado and we will definitely book with them when we come back. 10/10.

Great to hear! Most Colorado river flows are highest in early June fed by snowmelt, but while the winter was wet, summer has been drier than normal. Flows are lower than average, but we can still go for a few more days.

Family of 4, youngest child 11 yo girl- 10/10 recommend. Safe, clean, professional, fun experience. Buy the picture package, they came out beautifully! Don’t go buy gear 😂 they have it all, rent the booties and jacket, it was all brand new, clean and organized.

Yes, thanks for mentioning that. We bought a whole wall of new wetsuits, booties, and splash jackets this year to outfit our newest boathouse. You can choose what gear you want to use on your trip based on outside temperatures. Glad you had fun!
