Railbikes along Pudding Creek

Overview
Pedaling along our historic tracks, bathed in dappled sunlight and a light breeze, you’ll experience a new freedom on the rails, unlike anything else. Without the need to steer, you’re unbound, able to look around at the wonder of this untouched stretch of the natural world, spotting blue herons, osprey, an occasional lounging turtle, perhaps a playful river otter, a deer munching on the foliage, and during peak berry season maybe even a bear.

I should start by saying the rail bikes were a cool experience and we enjoyed it. The surroundings were beautiful and you do feel immersed. However, it was very expensive ($500 for two bikes) for what you actually get - a relatively short ride through a NEW growth redwood forest (website claims ancient redwoods but on the tour, they explain that the trees are only about 100 years old). The guides were nice and did a very good job but spent just as much time promoting other Skunk Train adventures as they did explaining history/facts about the area. Checked it off the list but not sure we would pay that much again.
