My Mother, Brother, Wife and our 2 kids (3 and 6) went and LOVED it. Our tour guide was Jason, he rocked! We have been to both Whydah museums in the cape and this one was a great companion to them. The real pirate story and real artifacts really seal the deal. Nothing like it. A+.

MY 3 boys and I decided to check out this NEW Pirate museum in Salem yesterday, 4/18/22. We had a great time. It truly was a look at Real Pirates and Treasure, unlike some of the other dated and disappointing museums nearby. My sons are 6, 10, and 12, and they all said they really enjoyed it. It is not a huge exhibit, but is is certainly big enough to keep their interest for 1-to-2 hours. Our tour-guide, Bill Golden, really did a good job engaging with us as we went through the exhibit. We highly recommend a visit, especially if you don't have the time to travel down to Cape Cod to see the Whydah museum down closer to the treasure site.

The highlight of our day! This is a great activity for a family. We were a family of 4 including adult children and it was great! The story of Black Sam and Maria was beautifully told while also bringing to life the adventure of pirates and lost treasure! The information is given in multiple ways (readings, knowledgeable docents, artifacts and recreations of events in the lives of Black Sam. As a parent I loved it. As a teacher I think it is a wonderful way to share this information. The information posters had a lot if information in a small amount of words, making it easy for young or low readers to enjoy and learn. We are already planning a return and a trip to their sister site on the cape.
