What To Expect

Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center

Stop off at the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center to check out the exhibits and gift shop for souvenirs. If you're lucky, you'll be able to see Mojave Max, the Desert Tortoise!

Calico Hills

The kaleidoscopic colors of Calico Hills are next. Watch the hillsides for a display of pinks, oranges and reds that change throughout the day. Your expert guide can also point out the natural tanks that store water in the hills, along with ancient plants and animals preserved in the layers of ancient dunes.

Willow Spring

Stop by Willow Springs after your off-roading adventure to see the roasting pit and pictographs from the past. Your guide will talk about the native history of the area and can take some photos!

To our surprise we were the only people on the afternoon tour which turns out does not always fill up. We were picked up at our hotel on time by Matthew who was very nice and extremely knowledgeable about the local area, landscape and various plants and animals. My husband and I decided to take the tour to do something different than the strip like we usually do. I’m so glad we did! The views were amazing and riding in the jeep was fun. We went in January so it was chilly but a blanket was provided, as you are picked up in the open air jeep. Wear sneakers and dress accordingly! Would definitely do it again.

We had a terrific time! I took my 16-year-old son on this on a January morning. Only two other people on the tour with us, a man and his 19-year-old son from Sweden. Our guide, Ken, was simply outstanding -- he was informative, funny, helpful and interesting. I have a bum knee and he was quickly there to help me step down every time we got out of the jeep. He made sure we had blankets and water. His tidbits of information absolutely made the tour. The scenery was breathtaking. We loved the off-road part of the adventure but wish it could have been longer. Ken was very gracious about making sure he took photos of us so we'd have mementos. This was 100 percent absolutely worth the cost.
