Max per-passenger seat weight limit is 300 lbs. Passengers with bodyweights exceeding 300 lbs. can still be accommodated in our Jet or Long Ranger aircraft. An additional fee may apply, payable directly to Scenic Helicopter Tours on the day of the tour.
All passengers must be weighed at check-in per FAA regulations and in the interest of passenger safety. Only the flight crew will have access to passenger weights, and all information will be kept confidential.

What To Expect

Scenic Helicopter Tours

The Ridge Runner is a definite crowd pleaser! Our Ridge Runner tour is a very exciting flight over the Chilhowee Mountain Range and Bluff Mountain. The flight starts with a birds eye view of downtown Sevierville and the Tennessee Valley. As the flight progresses you will be traveling over the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and the outskirts of Pigeon Forge and Waldens Creek. With excellent views of the Smoky Mountain National Park you round the back side of Bluff Mountain over 6,000 acres of undeveloped land. While flying low over the tree tops you cross over the top of Bluff mountain where views go from 100 feet to 80 miles in the blink of an eye, it truly is a sight to see! As you head back in you will follow the sheer glacier carved rock cliff side of Bluff Mountain and Sugarloaf Mountain before heading over the beautiful rolling foothills back to the Scenic Heliport! This flight is 30 miles and averages 15 minutes.

I had booked this tour for my husband for an anniversary gift. Neither of us had ever flown before and I am extremely afraid of heights so I was very nervous to say the least. I originally book the extended lake tour because it was one of the shorter flights and I didn't know how I would do on any flight much less a longer one. However, after arriving and talking to everyone I decided to upgrade to the ridge runner flight and I am extremely glad I did. Kevin was our pilot and he was awesome. I had told him of my fears before hand and he explained everything and did everything to make sure I was at ease on the whole flight. After getting off the ground and into the air the view was amazing and the ride was so smooth. Kevin did such a great job at telling us what and where everything was located and we had just an overall pleasant conversation with him on the entire flight. I now wish I had booked the national park flight. We will definitely be back and will do it then. I highly recommend this group of awesome people if you want to do a helicopter tour over the Smokies. Thank you Kevin for making our first flight an unforgettable experience.

Amazing hospitality, great view wonderful team!!! It was very easy we just signed in they greeted us explained how to use the headsets and encouraged us to take as many pictures as possible.

My wife surprised me for my birthday with a helicopter ride. I was very nervous but said, let’s do it. Then, when I got on the helicopter I changed my mind. The pilot and staff were very understanding and accommodating. They reassured me that it would be fine and if I was I could not handle it, the pilot would turn around. The pilot, Kevin, was fantastic at easing my anxiety. Once we were in the air, it was an amazing experience and I’m thankful to my wife for the experience and experience with her of a lifetime. Kevin and Simon, you all are amazing and a true asset to the company. We will surely be coming back for an extended tour.
