River Fishing and Bear Watching

Overview

This tour is designed for cruise ship passengers who are looking for an Alaskan excursion that is off the beaten path. We’ll depart Icy Strait Point and drive through the Alaska Native Tlingit village of Hoonah before merging onto old logging roads that will take us to a remote river. During the car ride and along the river it is common to spot wildlife- the island has more brown bears per square mile than almost anywhere else on the planet.

We had a private fishing excursion w Greg and he brought us to beautiful rivers where we caught plenty of fish. We saw a bear and some eagles as well. He was so interesting and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

The most adventurous track we did with Natalie. What an amazing experience of fishing we did. Even our little one enjoyed alot. Further, we were lucky to see Brown 🐻. I tell you it was most wonderful most for my kids. You wont believe while we were about to end our trip we show breathtaking view of Whale 🐳. Oh man it was out of the world. Thank you so much Natalie for this wonderful trip. We had a blast. 💥

We booked our private fishing tour with Natalie at natventuretours.com. This was by far the best experience. We didn't book through NCL. She picked us up at the security gate in Icy Strait Point and dropped us off in town where we stopped at a local pub. When we were ready to get back to the ship we jumped on the bus back to Port. While on the river, we caught 3 species of salmon, we saw salmon spawning and missed a bear going through the woods. Would definitely recommend this trip if fishing is on your list of things to do.
